About Me

 Sr. Carnevali

  • I was born and raised in Northern Cambria, PA, and graduated from Northern Cambria High School in 2009.
  • I earned a Bachelor's Degree of Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in Spanish Education for levels K-12.  In addition, I received my Bachelor's Degree of Arts in Spanish from IUP with a focus on Hispanic literature and culture.                           --IUP has one of the top Spanish Education programs in the nation. My adviser/instructor throughout my studies at IUP was Dr. Eileen Glisan, one of the nation's foremost experts on Second Language Acquisition methodology.
  • I am currently working towards obtaining my Master's Degree in Spanish Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney (UNK).
  • I was hired to teach Spanish at the Franklin Regional School District at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year.
  • During my studies at IUP, I had the privilege of spending over five months in Valladolid, Spain, where I lived with a Spanish host family while improving my speaking skills, enhancing my cultural knowledge, and traveling through Spain as well as various parts of Africa.
  • I have provided professional development opportunities for foreign language educators, focusing on the development of students' communication skills in the foreign language classroom through a "simulated immersion" environment.
  • I was chosen and featured for IUP's "Spotlight student" on the campus website.  This recognition was for their program focused on developing and preparing language educators.
  • One of my lessons on the teaching of grammar for communication was published in the Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association's (PSMLA) Forum - a professional magazine published annually on the use of current methodologies and techniques in the language classroom.
  • My effort and attention during each class period are on developing communication skills so that each one of my students can increase his/her proficiency from one class period to the next.
  • I have a passion for Second Language Acquisition, the Spanish language, and the Spanish culture.  My goal is to share this passion with my students and help them have fun communicating with native speakers of the Spanish language.
